Retrogaming: Nintendo Classic Mini
Growing up in the UK, my first foray into gaming was with the Sinclair ZX Spectrum 128k computer. During the eighties and before the rise of the Nintendo Entertainment system, home computers ruled the roost in the UK, with the Spectrum 128k, Commodore 64 and Amstrad CPC 464 all vying for the number 1 spot. As a result, the 8-bit console generation completely bypassed me and I missed out on many of the classic titles of that era. When I found out that the Nintendo Classic Mini was available for pre-order on Amazon, I instantly placed my order and thankfully I did – the console soon sold out and now sells in excess of it’s original retail price. Since it’s arrival, I’ve decided to take my time with the console and play each title, independently, to completion, starting with the Tecmo Classic Ninja Gaiden. I’m looking forward to spending some time with the console in the coming months and seeing how some of these classic titles stack up.
