Yakuza Kiwami (Sega)
Having completed the original Yakuza game on PS2 some years back and only partially making may way through Yakuza 2, I decided to pick up Yakuza ‘0’ for PS4 on launch at the start of this year, to once again, familiarise myself with this fantastic series. The Yakuza games are violent and humourous, with an abundance of activities and sub quests to undertake in it’s immersive vision of Japan’s underworld. With rivalries, infighting, deception and intrigue, the stories in Yakuza are very much of the soap opera variety; gameplay will involve players carrying out menial tasks for upgrades, interspersed with brawls against local gangs/rival clans, using bikes and the environment as instruments of violence.
This week Sega revealed the above trailer for Yakuza Kiwami scheduled for a summer release this year on PS4. Kiwami is a remake of the original PS2 game with enhanced graphics and gameplay. Needless to say, I’ll be picking this up.
