I recently received two Japanese releases of two of my favourite Western titles from the 16bit era; Speedball 2 (Bitmap Bros.) and Toe Jam & Earl from my friends over at http://www.videogameimports.com/. I have an interesting history with Speedball 2. I never actually played the game all that much. Instead, my older brother and I used to watch our friend play it on his Amiga 500 and were soon addicted to the high octane, adrenaline soaked matches. With Toe Jam & Earl, we rented the game from Blockbuster one Summer holiday back in the nineties. It’s offbeat humour and unique gameplay were an instant attraction, I’m happy to finally own the title.
Now to ask my older brother who’s nearly 40 and has a 6 month old, whether he wants to spend a day reliving our youth.
